The fees charged for the services related to National Identity Cards (NICs) has been amended by the Public Security Ministry.
Public Security Minister Tiran Alles increased the charges in accordance to the regulations made under Section 52 of the Registration of Persons Act No. 32 of 1968, in a special gazette notification published on Monday (23).
Therefore, the fee charged for the issuance of a certified copy of an NIC has been fixed at Rs. 1,000.
Meanwhile, Rs. 25 will be charged for the online submissions made through the Registration of Persons Department’s website, and the fee for submissions made by way of a physical document or electronic means acceptable to the Commissioner General has been set at Rs. 500.
Furthermore, the fee for the registration of a person as a photographer, under the Act, has been ascended from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000.
The annual fee for the renewal of a Certificate of Registration was also increased to Rs. 3,000 from Rs. 2,000.
