An eye disease has been spreading rapidly among children, said Deepal Perera, consultant paediatrician of the Lady Ridgeway hospital.
He mentioned this while speaking to the media.
“This disease spreads very easily. It is most probably a virus but it could also be a secondary bacteria infection,” he stated.
Dr. Deepal Perera further noted that most of the infected children show symptoms such as sore eyes, cough, cold and fever.
“Keep the children who show symptoms safe at home and seek medical help regarding the condition,” he concluded.
