The People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) emphasizes that candidates running in the upcoming General Election should designate a separate individual to oversee and manage their financial records.
Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi noted that without this measure, candidates may face difficulties akin to those encountered during the last presidential election when submitting accurate income and expenditure reports.
Additionally, Manjula Gajanayake, Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Reforms and Electoral Studies (IRES), highlighted the repercussions for candidates who do not submit proper expense reports.
