Former parliamentarian Duminda Silva has been admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo, just 24 hours after being transferred to the Welikada Prison hospital.
Silva was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and spent most of his prison term in hospitals. His recent transfer to a regular prison facility followed recommendations from medical specialists and social media claims of preferential treatment towards Silva by prison officials.
