A ‘severe cyclonic storm’ struck India’s eastern coast on Friday, uprooting trees, downing power lines, and flooding certain areas, according to authorities, who reported no fatalities or injuries.
Cyclone ‘Dana’ made landfall in Odisha state around midnight, with wind speeds of 100-110 km/h (62-68 mph) and gusts reaching up to 120 km/h (75 mph). The weather department anticipates that the storm will weaken into a cyclonic storm by midday.
