Cristiano Ronaldo makes social media history with 1 billion followers

Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has amassed a follower count exceeding one billion across his various social media platforms, with a significant boost from his recently introduced YouTube channel, amassing over 60 million subscribers within a brief span of three weeks.

Reports indicate that Ronaldo, who achieved his 900th career goal on September 5 during Portugal’s 2-1 triumph over Croatia in the Nations League, stands as the inaugural individual to achieve the milestone of one billion followers on social media.

The ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid player attained this achievement with a massive following of over 639 million on Instagram, 170 million on Facebook, and 113 million on X.

“We’ve made history, one billion followers! This is more than just a number, it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond,” Ronaldo posted on X.

“You’ve been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows. This journey is our journey. … Thank you for believing in me, for your support, and for being part of my life.”
