Basil leaves Sri Lanka heading for the USA

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) founder and former Minister, Basil Rajapaksa, departed for Dubai from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning, as confirmed by the airport Duty Manager.

Rajapaksa boarded Emirates Airlines (EK-649) at 03:05 a.m., having paid USD 206 for access to the plane and utilizing the ‘Gold Route’ terminal at BIA.

Airport sources indicated that his next destination after Dubai is the USA, as he typically follows this flight path when traveling to the United States of America.
