The suspect , who allegedly sexually assaulted a lady doctor at the Anuradhapura teaching hospital yesterday, has been arrested this morning (12).
This was announced by the Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala a short while ago in Parliament.
Minister Wijepala confirmed that the suspect was arrested by the Galnewa police, and currently in custody.
The suspect had entered the hospital dormitory provided to doctors on Monday and had sexually assaulted the victim, while threatening her with a knife.
The Suspect, a former Army deserter.
