Applications open for Director General of CIABOC following recent resignation

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

In a statement, the Parliamentary Communications Department announced that, in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023 (as amended), applications are invited for this role.

Qualified candidates should submit their applications following the format available on the Parliament’s website (www.parliament.lk), under the quick links section titled “Appointment of the Director General to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.”

Completed applications must be sent via registered post to the Secretary General of the Constitutional Council, Constitutional Council Office, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, or emailed to [email protected] by October 28, 2024.

The advertisement for this position was published in national newspapers on October 13 and 14, according to the Parliamentary Communications Department.

Earlier, on October 07, the Director General of the Bribery Commission Kanishka Wijeratne gave undertaking to the Supreme Court to resign from office, after the court granted leave to proceed with three Fundamental Rights (FR) applications filed by Journalist Ruwani Fonseka, Transparency International (TISL) and activist Vidura Ralapanne challenging his appointment as the Director General of the Bribery Commission.
