Authorities have uncovered another illegally assembled luxury car in the garage of a ‘Kapuwa’ who had previously been arrested for similar offenses related to the possession of an unlawfully assembled vehicle.
During the interrogation of the ‘Kapuwa’ from the Galthenna Devalaya in Kandy, police discovered this additional luxury vehicle after the individual was recently taken into custody and remanded.
Further investigations revealed that the luxury car in question shared the same license plate as another vehicle located in the Hettipola area of Kurunegala. This connection has raised further questions regarding the legality of the car’s assembly and ownership.
As a result, the vehicle has been seized and placed into police custody pending further examination. The Theldeniya Divisional Crimes Unit is actively pursuing additional inquiries into the matter, aiming to uncover the full extent of the situation. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding the illegal assembly and distribution of luxury vehicles, prompting law enforcement to take action against such activities to uphold the law and ensure public safety.
