The government is poised to unveil the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative on January 1, 2025, under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, as announced by the President’s Media Division (PMD). A newly established Presidential Task Force, comprising 18 members including the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, the Acting Inspector General of Police, and the Commanders of the three armed forces, will oversee the initiative. This Task Force will be responsible for planning, guiding, executing, monitoring progress, and ensuring the successful completion of the “Clean Sri Lanka” program within the designated timeframe.
