The Election Comission (EC) has pointed out that they have been recieving death threats from the Governments’ side in order to cancel the election that was to be held on the 25th of April, said Mujibur Rahman, Former Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP.
He stated this while speaking to the media yesterday(23).
“The court has ordered to hold and provide money for this election.So we have already explained to the EC that the election can no longer be postponed. It is also the demand of the public,” he added.
He further noted that his hopes of becoming the Mayor of Colombo won’t be dashed.
