The Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a 27-year-old woman alias “Ima” for drug peddling during a raid in Kurukulawa, Ragama yesterday (04).
She is said to have run the narcotics syndicate of “Kalana”, who is an associate of the notorious criminal figure “Ganemulla Sanjeewa”.
The suspect who was identified as a resident of Enderamulla in Wattala was found with 5g and 490mg of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) at the time of the arrest.
It has also been revealed that she was involved in two shooting incidents in Dunumala and Negombo which took place on July 14 and August 12, respectively.
The arrestee has been handed over to Ragama police station for onward investigations.
